Why we made the Triton
We built the Triton because we had customers say they love the full pop-up of the Bruin line and the massive windows of the Tenfold. We asked ourselves… why not combine them and give the customer the best of both worlds? That is where we got the six massive windows. Camping in the Triton is a truly immersive experience!
The design requirements we had were that it had to use the same tent as the Bruin and Tenfold, and that it needed to be easy to open and close like the rest of our campers. I would like to say that it is as easy as both the Tenfold and Bruin, but we are just a hair shy of that. You will need to lock the alignment supports, which does add about 40 seconds to the pop-up process and about a minute to the pull-down process. For the massive views, we think that this is an acceptable trade.

What the Triton is
The Triton is for people who love the feeling of sleeping outdoors but still want a comfortable bed and protection from the elements. Unlike the Tenfold, it’s a full pop-up. Instead of a roof that slopes down at one end, the entire roof rises, so you get the full vertical space throughout the camper.
With nearly seven feet of standing height, a queen-size sleeping platform and six large panoramic windows, it feels remarkably open inside. At around 300 pounds, all of that extra usable space costs you very little extra weight compared with the Tenfold.

Why you’d choose the Triton
The windows
Those six panoramic windows are what make the Triton special. Imagine waking up in an evergreen forest in the Pacific Northwest, opening the windows and looking out at old-growth trees. It feels like the idyllic childhood treehouse, back when every day was made for adventure. It’s about as close to sleeping under the stars as you can get while still having a comfortable queen bed, an elevated sleeping platform, and the ability to zip up the windows if weather rolls in.

Headroom you can use
Because the whole roof lifts, headroom stays consistent throughout the interior. That’s especially appealing to taller campers, and to couples who want room to move around, change clothes and enjoy their mornings without feeling confined.
A big step up for a small price
For about $1,000 more than the Tenfold, you get a full pop-up, more headroom and those six windows. And at $7,999, it’s still $2,000 less than the Bruin.
Light for the space
At around 300 pounds, it’s only a little heavier than our lightest camper. You keep the everyday usefulness of your truck and gain a lot of room.

A morning in the Triton
Imagine you pulled in late, popped the roof and went to bed with the windows zipped against the night chill. At first light, you unzip the windows and the whole forest, or desert, or lakeshore, is right there. You’re still warm in a real bed, a few feet off the ground. You make coffee and watch the day start without ever leaving the camper. That’s the Triton: the openness of tent camping with a lot more comfort, elevation and speed.

Opening and closing the Triton
Not to get into the weeds too much… well, this is a blog, so into the weeds we go. When you pop the Triton up, you go inside and make sure the alignment brackets are locked out. When you close it, you make sure the pins are pulled and ready for it to come down. It’s simple, but it’s a little more hands-on than the tailgate open-and-close on the Bruin. If opening and closing from the tailgate is a must, keep reading the Bruin guide.
Sleeping in the Triton
Most Triton customers sleep with their feet toward the tailgate. Getting out of bed is simple: work your way to the tailgate and hop down. It’s a big reason we like the Triton for couples who like to get up early without disturbing each other.

Room to get in and out. We found that just under two feet of clearance above the bed is the sweet spot: enough room to get in and out easily, and still enough for a queen-size sleep platform.

What to think about
Fabric walls
The Triton uses durable marine-grade fabric for its pop-up walls. That keeps it light and creates the open, airy experience. The tradeoff is that fabric doesn’t have the same cabin feel as the hard walls on the Bruin and Bruin XL. If most of your camping is in warmer months, that’s a great trade. If you camp year-round or through changing weather, or want a more insulated feel and the protection of hard walls, look at the Bruin.

Setup
The Triton can’t be opened and closed from the tailgate. You’ll go inside to check the brackets and pins. For many people that’s a minute of work well worth the views.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between the Tenfold and the Triton?
The Tenfold is a wedge-style pop-up starting at $6,999 and around 275 pounds. The Triton is a full pop-up starting at $7,999 and around 300 pounds, with more consistent headroom and six panoramic windows.
Is the Triton good for taller people?
Yes. Its full pop-up design provides more consistent headroom than a wedge. All of our campers generally have more than 6'7" of standing room when popped up, depending on whether your truck has tall or short bed rails.
Can I open it from the tailgate?
Sort of… The Triton’s alignment brackets and pins are locked into place and unlocked from inside. While it will pop up, you will need to get inside to secure it into place. The Bruin and Bruin XL open and close from the tailgate.
