Oru Designs USA Update | December 2025
Oru Designs began with a simple mission: to create a compact, durable hard-wall pop-up camper that makes outdoor experiences easier and more enjoyable.
Over the years, thousands of customers have embraced that vision, helping Oru become a trusted name in design innovation and craftsmanship.
As production scaled, we identified inconsistencies in a third-party hinge component supplied by an external manufacturer.
While many units continued to perform well, the variation in hinge quality did not meet the long-term durability standards we expect from every Oru camper.
Rather than issue short-term fixes or create confusion with partial updates, our founders made the focused decision to put engineering first.
They stepped fully back into the shop to test, validate, and develop a hinge-free reinforced panel system that removes reliance on the inconsistent hinge component and strengthens the long-term durability of every camper moving forward.
During this engineering phase, communication slowed—not from neglect, but because we were prioritizing a permanent solution over piecemeal explanations.
With the reinforced system now being in the final stages of validation, Oru is updating its customer support infrastructure, implementing structured communication systems, and preparing an upgrade pathway for existing customers.
These steps are designed to reinforce not only our product, but the confidence our customers place in us.
